God is faithful. He can not disappoint you. If you've ever been disappointed, it could not have come from God. We disappoint ourselves when we come to the end of our own strength. When we learn by experience of the goodness of God, we trust His strength and His power, which can not disappoint us.
Rom10:11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.
If you are disappointed, it is a sure sign that you've tried very hard and the expectation your religion gave you was not honoured. It was not honoured, because God never said it. It's not by our good works that we receive from God, and not by merit, but by faith in the cross of Christ, trusting His power and goodness that He demonstrated at the cross. Its all by grace. Your efforts to please God can only end in disappointment.
God has already given you everything you need. It is your inheritance in Christ. If you realise you are in Christ, you will experience your inheritance. If you try to get through to Christ by showing Him how hard you try, you will never experience anything from God. Be conscious of Christ, have fellowship with Christ. Everything you need is in Christ.
2Pet1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue
